Lesson 4: How to
visit a student's webpage
Now that you have sent a message and a
sticker to your student, you'll probably want to find out what they will
actually see when they visit their webpage.
While you have complete access to each
student's records from your own webpage, to actually visit their webpage, you'll
need to login as though you were that student - which means you'll need to know
their username and password.
Then you go to
www.theirusername.practicepage.com, and enter the password when asked. So if
their username were "Sandra88", then their web address would be
www.sandra88.practicepage.com.
Step 1: Finding out a student's
username and password
Select the student's name from the dropdown
menu that is on the top right of your screen:

You will then be taken to their Student
Management summary page. Scroll down until you see the heading "PracticePage
Settings". Under that will be their username and password:

Step 2: Going to their page
Simply type
www.theirusername.practicepage.com into the address bar of your browser.
Enter their password when prompted, and you will be taken straight to their
page.
Now you'll be able to admire the sticker
and the message that you sent earlier, and you'll see exactly what they will see
when they visit their page.
And because you've visited their page, you
can be more confident in giving them instructions as to how they can.
You can use this technique to check out
any student's page, any time you like.
To introduce your students to their page,
we have provided ready made letters of introduction
http://www.practicepage.com/introletter.pdf (pdf) or
http://www.practicepage.com/introletter.doc (Microsoft Word - just in case
you want to edit it at all)
What's next?
Now you know how to send a message to a student, send
a sticker to a student, and then visit that student's webpage to admire your
handiwork. Next, we show you how to fill your entire timetable, and
give out webpages to any of your students who would like one.
I'm so excited! How do I fill my timetable?
